Body Piercing Photos

Just like any type of trauma to a part of your body, body piercing comes with a risk of infection. Infections are quite serious that can greatly affect your quality of life and your overall sense of health and well being. Infections from body piercings—or any other type of trauma to your body—can result in serious heart problems or even death if not properly attended to by a trained physician. In addition to the infection risk while the piercing hole is healing, you should also be aware of potential infections associated with needles and unhygienic surroundings.

Before you even decide to pierce any part of your body, your main concern should be finding a reputable piercing parlor. There are many serious diseases and infections associated with needles, including HIV and Hepatitis. Ensuring the piercing parlor practices excellent hygiene and cleanliness procedures before you patronize the shop will prevent you from experiencing any potentially life threatening diseases. Be sure you ask about the quality of the hygiene and cleanliness of the shop and the piercer. If the professional is unable to provide you with the correct answers or seems to be unwilling to answer your questions, you may need to avoid the piercing parlor.

Body Piercing Shops

Body Shops offer health and beauty products one needs in order to stay healthy and gorgeous. Also, Bath & Body Works and The Body Shop Int’l are two popular body shops in the US.

The past ten years gave rise to the growth and popularity of the bath and body shops industry in the United States. Body shops have grown in demand as more and more men and women put importance in their body’s well being and beauty, particularly the skin.

Body shops are popular because they present a generous array of beauty and body enhancing products from lotions, body moisturizers, to bath oils, soaps, to make-ups and concealers. Lotions flavored with various natural ingredients such as mint are one of body shops’ major offers. Mint lotions are ideal for your feet and hands which are the most prone to dryness than other body parts. As for cosmetics, you can choose from organic and Vitamin E or C based lipsticks and make-ups.

Body shops also provide tons of perfumed sweet indulgences that consist of shower gels, shampoos, perfumes and aromatic candles that can turn the simple daily rituals into a treat. You can also find a whole line of spa and aromatherapy products as well as other beauty tools and accessories (pumice, loofas and sponges). Apparels, jewelries and gift items are found in several body shops thus making them one-stop store indeed. You will no longer have to visit the saloon more often as you can pamper yourself with these creations while relaxing in your tub or lying on the couch.

Body Piercing Tattoos

Both tattoos and piercing have been practiced in various civilizations for hundreds of years. A tattoo is almost a branding, in that the tattoo artist produces a drawing on your skin by using needles and ink. Once you have had a tattoo it's virtually impossible to remove, just like being branded.

Body piercing is where the person has a part of their body, often the ears or the nose, but it can be other areas of the body, pierced, and a ring or decorative jewel fitted through the hole. In ancient times it was often rich people who had tattoos in order to display their wealth or a symbol of beauty.

People in ancient Egypt used to have their ears pierced with something known as gauge plugs. This practice was usually only followed by the Egyptian Royal family, and they would have their navels pierced as well as their ears. Rich Egyptians displayed both their wealth and their beauty by having their earrings made in the form of lotus flowers.

Even in the time of the Bible body piercing, it was quite common once the Romans came because they pierced many parts of the body, particularly male nipples as this was a sign of virility. In order to prevent serious injury, Roman gladiators would have their penis pierced with a ring; ties were slotted through the ring to hold back the genitals during a tournament. Gladiators were also slaves and the piercing was designed to stop them having sex without the permission of their owners.
